Why this exists

An accident that stops you working creates two problems at once — the treatment, and the income. Personal accident cover pays a set benefit regardless of either.

What it covers

  • Accidental death benefit
  • Permanent total or partial disability, on a benefit scale
  • Temporary disability payments on many policies
  • Medical expenses arising from the accident, where included

What it does not

  • Illness — this is accident cover only
  • Self-inflicted injury
  • Hazardous activities unless declared
  • Accidents while under the influence of alcohol or drugs

Exclusions vary between insurers and wordings. These are the ones we see most often — yours should be read individually.

Who it is usually right for

  • People in physically demanding or higher-risk work
  • Employers covering staff, drivers and site workers
  • Anyone whose income depends on being physically able to work

We do not sell this policy to you.

We compare it across insurers, tell you whether you actually need it, and stand with you if you ever have to claim on it. Start with a conversation, not a quote.
